Galp Energia has been selected for inclusion in both the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) World and the DJSI Europe, for the second consecutive year. In this way, the Company continues to be part of one of the indices with greater international recognition in matters of sustainability.
In 2013, Galp Energia continues to be part of the group of companies that are recognized for its sustainable practices, both in Europe and in the World. In particular, Galp Energia was one of the restrict group of five companies from the Oil & Gas Producers sector that was selected to be included in the DJSI Europe, from a universe of 17 companies. Regarding the companies from the Oil & Gas Producers sector which were included in the DJSI World, Galp Energia remained as one of the 15 selected companies, within a universe of 123. The Company had a total of 76 points, which compare to the average of the Oil & Gas Producers sector of 48 points.
These results reflect Galp Energia’s commitment to promote a sustainable growth, particularly in what regards the environmental, the social and the economic dimensions.
Continuing in the index reflects the commitment of Galp Energia in executing its strategy, while aligning its growth to highly sustainable practices.
The DJSI was established in 1999, and was the first indicator of the financial performance of the world’s leading companies in terms of sustainability. The members of this index are classified as the companies more able to create value for shareholders in the long term, through an effective management of the risks associated to economic, environmental and social dimensions.
