Key pillar for social impact in local communities

Our commitment

Galp's volunteering programme has over a decade of existence and is aligned with our social investment strategy. By giving employees up to six working days to volunteer or participate in a community activity, we enhance internal culture alignment, promote skills development, and leverage our local community investment.

The volunteering programme enhances employee engagement with our purpose, by gaining a knowledge of and understanding of the local context of our communities, helping to shape and build our social impact path.

The corporate volunteer programme is driven and supported by the CEO through the organisation, whose full commitment in 2023 translated into all executive committee members participating in community activities and more than 70% of directors as well.

In 2023, total participation in our volunteer programme (individual volunteers) reached 25% of Galp's workforce, benefiting more than 30 social organisations.

By 2025, the goal is to have 26% of employees engaged with community service.
